His Excellency the Deputy Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture, Eng. Mansour bin Hilal Al-Mushaiti, chaired a joint coordination meeting that brought together several entities related to agricultural production and supply chains. The meeting aimed to strengthen food supply chains and promote the sustainability of agricultural production by supporting and adopting best agricultural practices that contribute to increasing production and raising self-sufficiency rates for many local agricultural products, thereby enhancing food security in line with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
\nThe meeting was attended by several heads of specialized committees from the Federation of Saudi Chambers, including the Agriculture Committee, Food Security Committee, Poultry Producers Committee, Dairy Producers Committee, and the Feed Committee. A number of supporting entities also participated, including the General Food Security Authority, the Saudi Food and Drug Authority, the National Industrial Development Center, the National Agricultural Services Company, and the Weqaa Center.
\nDiscussions focused on ongoing efforts to support and develop the agricultural sector in ways that contribute to the sustainability of agricultural production and the smooth flow of food supply chains. This will be achieved through coordinated cooperation between all stakeholders in both the public and private sectors to implement best practices, facilitate the movement of food products to and from the Kingdom, build an effective government communication network to achieve food security objectives, and coordinate logistics related to feed inputs.
\nThe meeting, held via video conference, also praised the unlimited support provided by the Kingdom\u2019s leadership to the agricultural sector, which has achieved significant progress. The sector\u2019s contribution to the GDP reached SAR 114 billion by the end of 2024, while many agricultural products and crops have achieved high self-sufficiency rates exceeding 100%, further strengthening food security in the Kingdom.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
