His Excellency the Deputy Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture, Eng. Mansour bin Hilal Al-Mushaiti, affirmed the stability of supply chains in the poultry sector, contributing to abundant production, meeting the growing local demand, and fulfilling consumer needs for poultry meat and its products in the markets. He noted that the Kingdom\u2019s poultry sector has achieved significant advancements and record production levels, expected to exceed 1.5 million tons, reaching a self-sufficiency rate of over 76%. This contributes to strengthening food security and supporting the national economy, in line with Saudi Vision 2030 objectives.<\/p>\n
This statement came during his chairing of a joint meeting held at the ministry\u2019s headquarters to review stock levels and expected poultry production in the coming period, including the Hajj season. The meeting was attended by the General Food Security Authority, the National Committee of Poultry Producers, and the National Committee of Feed Manufacturers under the Federation of Saudi Chambers.
\nThe Deputy Minister explained that the outcomes and discussions of the meeting were reassuring regarding the status of poultry meat and product production, ensuring that growing demand is met while maintaining quality and price stability for consumers\u2014especially during the Hajj season, when consumption rates significantly increase. This has prompted greater efforts by the ministry and related entities to boost production and ensure product availability. He added that the ministry\u2019s plans and the establishment of several model poultry projects across various regions have contributed to the availability of fresh poultry meat and table eggs, as well as stable prices in retail and central markets. Furthermore, initiatives and programs supporting local feed producers have increased domestic investments in the poultry feed sector, enhancing availability and boosting overall poultry production.
\nThe meeting also reviewed production and stock quantities of broiler chicken for the first quarter of 2026, including outputs from the top ten companies representing 85% of local production. In March, broiler production reached 125,470 tons, while monthly stock stood at approximately 16,278 tons.
\nHe further noted that production of large-sized chicken (weighing over 1,500 grams) is close to 77,000 tons, highlighting that four companies began actual production of these larger weights at the beginning of this month, which will contribute to their availability across all sales points and retail markets.
