
Minister of Environment Discusses Prospects for Fruitful Cooperation in Water and Agriculture with Chinese Counterpart
His Excellency the Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture, Eng. Abdulrahman bin Abdulmohsen Al-Fadley, held bilateral meetings with China’s Minister of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Mr. Han Jun, and China’s Minister of Water Resources, Mr. Li Guoying, during his official visit to China.
The discussions focused on exploring prospects for fruitful cooperation between the two countries in the fields of water and agriculture, and on strengthening the strategic partnership to support sustainable development goals, expand trade exchange, and share expertise and modern technologies.
In his meeting with the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Eng. Al-Fadley discussed cooperation in agriculture and food security, as well as opportunities to use modern technologies and adopt advanced agricultural systems—most notably, closed-system greenhouses and intensive aquaculture based on high standards and global specifications.
In a separate meeting with Minister of Water Resources Mr. Li Guoying, His Excellency addressed ways to tackle water scarcity challenges through joint projects. He also reviewed Saudi Arabia’s plans to launch dam projects with the participation of Chinese companies, and to benefit from China’s experience in dam construction.
