Deputy Minister of Environment Meets National Poultry Producers Committee to Discuss Strengthening Local Production and Food Security

His Excellency Eng. Mansour bin Hilal Al-Mushaiti, Deputy Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture, met with members of the National Poultry Producers Committee at the Ministry’s headquarters to discuss ways to further develop the poultry sector and enhance the efficiency of local production in support of Saudi Arabia’s food security system.

The meeting covered several key topics, including increasing domestic production of poultry and poultry products, ensuring adequate and stable supplies in local markets, improving production efficiency, and strengthening collaboration between the Ministry and the private sector to enhance self-sufficiency levels in line with national objectives and the sector’s long-term vision.

This initiative builds on the Ministry’s ongoing achievements in the poultry sector, where self-sufficiency in poultry meat has exceeded 76%, alongside significant progress in table egg production. These accomplishments are further supported by strategic projects aimed at localizing advanced technologies and expanding domestic production capabilities.

The Ministry continues to promote investments and partnerships with the private sector to improve supply chain efficiency and implement the highest standards of food safety and biosecurity, contributing to the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 to build a sustainable, competitive, and resilient agricultural and food sector.
