Tanmiah Company Strengthens Sustainability Through Strategic Partnership with VCM

Tanmiah Food Comapny has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Regional Voluntary Carbon Market Company (VCM), marking an important step in the companyโ€™s commitment to advancing sustainable practices and reducing its carbon footprint across the poultry sector.

The MoU was signed by Zulfiqar Hamdani, CEO of Food Development Company, and Fadi Saadeh, CEO of the Regional Voluntary Carbon Market Company. The agreement enables Tanmiah Food Comapny to explore opportunities to participate in Saudi Arabiaโ€™s voluntary carbon market and benefit from VCMโ€™s platform for trading certified carbon credits.

The partnership supports the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 and the Kingdomโ€™s ambitions to achieve net-zero emissions. It also contributes to the implementation of Food Development Companyโ€™s sustainability strategy, which includes measuring and managing carbon emissions, setting measurable reduction targets, improving energy efficiency, and adopting lower-carbon poultry production practices.

Established in 2022 with the support of the Public Investment Fund (PIF) and Saudi Tadawul Group, the Regional Voluntary Carbon Market Company aims to develop a high-integrity market for certified voluntary carbon credits. Its platform enables companies to source and trade carbon credits from reliable sources, while also providing advisory services.

Through this collaboration, Tanmiah Food Comapny aims to connect its initiatives in emissions reduction, sustainable feed practices, waste reduction, and resource efficiency with broader opportunities in climate finance and the voluntary carbon market.
