82% of Saudi Arabia’s Table Egg Production Certified with “Saudi GAP”, Annual Output Exceeds 8.4 Billion Eggs

The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture confirmed that 82% of the Kingdom’s table egg production is covered by the “Saudi GAP” quality certification, reflecting producers’ commitment to applying the highest standards of quality and food safety. This ensures that local products comply with national and international specifications and strengthens consumer confidence.

The Ministry added that table egg production in 2024 exceeded 8.4 billion eggs, marking a 6.4% increase compared to 2023. Riyadh Region ranked first with production of approximately 3.2 billion eggs, followed by Makkah Region with 1.5 billion eggs, and the Eastern Province with around 1.1 billion eggs.

The Ministry also revealed that the campaign highlights the importance of adopting Good Agricultural Practices across all stages of agricultural production, and their role in ensuring food safety, preserving natural resources, and improving operational efficiency. The initiative also supports farmers and technicians by developing their skills, thereby enhancing the sustainability of the Kingdom’s food security system.

Through expanding the application of the accredited “Saudi GAP” quality mark, the Ministry aims to encourage compliance with approved standards and boost consumer trust in local products. “Saudi GAP” is one of the Ministry’s key initiatives to support good agricultural practices, improve the quality of plant and animal production, and encourage producers to adhere to the highest safety and quality standards—contributing to the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
